The Story
To alter is to change. An altar is where we place what we hold sacred. This body of work lives in the space between those two meanings.
The images for Alter were made slowly, in stillness. Flowers and forms held at the moment of becoming something else. Each work is a record of transformation, the exact point where one state gives way to the next.
Alter is also my own threshold. It is the first solo exhibition of a new chapter, made in a new city, in a new life. The work and the life have been altering each other the whole way through.
The exhibition runs 7-13 September with opening night on Wednesday 9th September at Artspace, Jan Manton Gallery, Teneriffe.
Be Part of the Making
Every work in Alter records a threshold, the exact moment one state gives way to the next. An exhibition crosses a threshold of its own: from the studio, where the work is made, to the wall, where it is met. Museum-grade printing, framing built to hold the work for decades, the presentation the images deserve. This is the second becoming, and no artist crosses it alone.
The Alter Offerings are how you take part. An altar is where we place what we hold sacred, and an offering is always an exchange: something given, something received. What returns to you is real, a practice, an object, a portrait, or a work that will exist for no one else.
The people who take up an offering become part of the exhibitions transformation, the reason it arrives whole.
The Offerings close at the threshold of the works being curated on the gallery wall. Each offering is limited. When they are gone, they are gone. (Offerings close 6 September)
The Threshold - $35
A recorded meditation for tending your inner altar, made especially for the offerings. Your altar can simply be the quiet centre you return to. Delivered instantly, yours to keep.
The Small Work - $150
A signed 5x7 fine art print of an image made alongside the works in Alter. Not for the gallery wall. It exists only here, and when the offerings close, it will never be printed again.
The Small Work + The Threshold -$175
The print and the meditation together. Something to hold, and something to return to. The practice begins in your inbox within a day; the print follows.
The Presence Sitting - $770
An unhurried portrait session with me in Brisbane, made slowly and with presence. Five finished images, retouched by my own hand. Only 8 sittings exist.
The Commission - $3500
A unique work made only for you. You bring a form that holds meaning, a flower, an object, a found gift of nature, and I offer it to my creative process. What emerges is an edition of one, made after the show closes, that will never exist for anyone else. Only 2 commissions exist.
$3,500, taken in two parts, half to begin, half on completion.
What is made here does not come again.

Practical Notes
All offerings are fulfilled following at the end of September, and the close of the exhibition.
The meditation is delivered instantly.
Prints ship 30th September or earlier, with shipping calculated at checkout.
Presence Portrait Sitting bookings are scheduled in Brisbane from October 2026 to October 2027 upon a mutually agreed date.
Commissioned works are arranged individually.
